Meggin Messenger, MPA, BScF, RPF

Executive Summary

Meggin Messenger, MPA, BScF, RPF, is currently executive director for the Association of BC Land Surveyors. In this role, she works with staff, committees, and the board to deliver excellence in professional regulation. This role has many areas of convergence with Forest Professionals BC work, including strategic planning, operational planning, developing bylaws and policies, managing continuing professional development, running audits, and addressing complaints.

Before moving into professional regulation, Meggin worked for the province, leading teams working on land use, resource stewardship, conservation, community development, and climate change for more than 30 years.

Along the way, she worked for the forests ministry in silviculture, planning, timber supply, tenures, engineering, and climate change, and led a successful nature-based climate solutions program (Forest Carbon Initiative) that was a Premier’s Award finalist for evidence-based design.

As a professional forester and public servant, Meggin is keenly interested in understanding how to make the best practice decisions in the context of new science, social change, and climate change.
