National Forest Week

Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) supports National Forest Week (NFW), which runs annually in the third week of September.

NFW highlights the importance of forests and their contribution to our economy, culture, history, and future.

NFW is coordinated nationally by the Canadian Institute of Forestry and in BC by the National Forest Week-BC Coalition, a group of forest professionals drawn from across the forest sector.

The coalition works to inspire British Columbians to explore our forests and forest heritage, and to support forest education and awareness.

The coalition also offers a number of resources, including handouts, giveaways, and tree posters. It further provides forest professionals to speak in school classrooms.

FPBC partners with the coalition to offer photo and children’s art contests each year in the weeks leading up to NFW. Winning entries and more info on each contest can be found on the NFW-BC website.
