Practice Standards for Forest Resource Activities

Every registrant providing professional service in a forest resource activity must comply with the standards of practice. This includes the Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct, as well as the more detailed standards and guidelines (described in the table below) that govern particular forest resource activities.

In exceptional circumstances, a registrant may depart from a particular requirement set out in one of the standards and guidelines, but only if it is appropriate to do so for an identified reason, which must be specifically documented and supported by a written rationale that is consistent with the Code.

FPBC may also specify that a particular requirement in the standards and guidelines may not be deviated from for any reason; such instances will be explicitly stated in the applicable document with a reference to Bylaw 9-2(3).
