FPBC Award Details
Forest Innovation Award
The Forest Innovation Award recognizes a Registered Professional Forester, Registered Forest Technologist, or Natural Resource Professional who has taken a leadership role in applying innovative activities, projects, practices, procedures, or policies beyond current forest management best practices.
Jim Rodney Memorial Volunteer of the Year
Recognizes an individual for outstanding volunteer service to FPBC and the profession. The Volunteer of the Year Award was named in memory of Jim Rodney, RPF, who passed away in 2004. Demonstrating his passion for his chosen profession, Jim was always willing to sacrifice his time and energy to advance the practice of forestry. It is fitting that the Volunteer of the Year award bear Jim’s name. His volunteerism stands as an example and inspiration to everyone.
Joint Awards
BC Forest Professional Magazine Award
Recognizes individuals who have written outstanding articles for publication in BC Forest Professional (BCFP) magazine. Each January, the editorial advisory panel selects one article from the previous year which best advances the profession and demonstrates superb writing skills. Nominations are not accepted for BCFP awards
