The BCIT Urban Forest Assessment course provides training in ecosystem values and assessment protocols for urban forests and the application of this information in regional land management.

This knowledge is increasingly relevant in municipal planning and in the assessment and enhancement of natural capital and infrastructure.

The online course includes an understanding of the basics of urban forest assessment, an overview of i-Tree applications and their function and features, and is applicable for students studying ecological restoration, forestry, resource management, arborists, planners, consultants, stewardship groups and teachers. It is accreditted by the International Society of Arboriculture and will give students 6 ISA CEU’s (A, U, M, TL, TW, Bm).
