Develop practical plant identification skills in Field Skills in Native Plant Identification, a field-based course from BCIT.
Through hands-on experience at three different field sites, you’ll learn to use field guides, understand scientific names, and apply botanical terminology to confidently identify 40 or so common plants (conifers, broadleaf trees, shrubs, ferns, and herbs) in their natural habitats.
This 18-hour course is perfect for environmental professionals, students in natural sciences/resource management/forestry/ecological restoration, and anyone with a passion for nature. Transportation to field sites is the responsibility of the student.
