Learn how to navigate the new BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) fuel management template in a new webinar from Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC).
BCWS, with land managers and forest professionals, has developed a new fuel management prescription for use on funded fuel management treatments in BC.
BC Wildfire Fuel Management Prescription Template Demonstration addresses technical elements of completing the new prescription template. Participants will learn various applications for the template, across land management or ownership, as well as the differences from the previous prescription template, particularly related to implications for data collection/technical fuel management, values identification, and legislative responsibilities.

Presenters: Morgan Boghean, RFT, and Andre Chalabi, with support from Pete Laing, RFT, and Stephanie Flynn during the question period.
Boghean, a wildfire prevention officer with BCWS, has 20 years of fire experience and is certified as Type 2 fire behavior specialist, operations section chief, origin and cause specialist, and prescribed burn boss. He’s currently working toward certification as an ignition’s specialist.
Chalabi is a wildfire officer in the cultural and prescribed fire program with BCWS. Chalabi has 19 years of fire experience and is certified as a Type 1 prescribed burn boss, operations section chief, ignition specialist, and Incident Commander 2.
Laing is the superintendent of fuel management with BCWS. Laing has close to 35 years experience and is certified as a Type 1 incident commander, operations section, and as a Type 2 prescribed burn boss.
Flynn is a wildfire technician on the prevention/fuel management team. She has nine years of wildfire experience and is currently working towards registration with the FPBC as an ASFIT.
