We are seeking a Silviculture Supervisor to join our Woodlands Department. Based out of the Canoe Forest Products division (near Salmon Arm), this position will include work and travel to all of Gorman Group’s Woodlands divisions, including Downie Timber (Revelstoke) and Gorman Bros. SALARY RANGE: $80,000 to $98,000 per year dependent on education, FPBC registration status, and experience.
KEY ROLES:
Reporting to the General Manager Woodlands, and taking direction from the Silviculture Lead, the Silviculture Supervisor’s duties include:
- Silviculture program planning, including but not limited to site prep, planting, brushing, surveys, cone collection, and burning.
- Silviculture treatment layout.
- Data entry into silviculture databases such as Phoenix and RESULTS.
- Invoice review and processing.
- Mapping and use of ArcGIS.
- Financial cost evaluation of actual program spends.
- Administration of Special projects: e.g. Section 108.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in Forestry, Environmental Science, or similar.
- Registered with the Forest Professionals of BC as an RPF, RFT, FIT, ASFIT, TFT, or ASTFT.
- Minimum five years of experience in a related role in the forestry or other natural resource-based sector.
- Valid driver’s license.
