Senior  Inventory Forester

Silvatech Consulting Ltd. was established in 1983 as a progressive developer of technological solutions for resource management applications. The Silvatech Group employs the most current technology available in resource information acquisition, classification and mapping.

Silvatech is accepting resumes for the position of Senior Inventory Forester. This position requires an experienced photo interpreter to work with our resource inventory team in supervising forest resource inventory projects. The position is full-time, based out of Salmon Arm, B.C. on beautiful Shuswap Lake. It is ideal for those who prefer a small-city with full services, year-round recreational opportunities and close to larger centers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Air-Photo Interpreter in BC, AB or Ont.
• Bachelor of Science in Forestry with near potential for registration as a Registered Professional Forester in BC
• 5 + years of experience in forest resource inventories
• Demonstrated inventory project supervision experience
• Strong people / leadership skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated experience with soft-copy stereo digitizers
• Demonstrated skills with remote sensing / digital mapping software

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Project supervision / management
• Client Liaison
• Image / photo interpretation / delineation / QA
• Field sampling / data collection / QA
• Final classification / attribute estimation / QA
