There is currently one (1) permanent, full-time position available in Williams Lake or Alexis Creek.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
$67,728.87 - $77,012.22 annually
The Ministry of Forests is responsible for the stewardship of provincial Crown land and ensures the sustainable management of forests, wildlife and other land-based resources. The Ministry manages these resources in a manner that embraces the economic, environmental and social goals of government.
This Resource Specialist position provides independent technical advisory services for the Cariboo-Chilcotin Natural Resource District to support natural resource decision-making.
This role has a strong focus on overseeing and providing guidance to the work of other technical staff and contracted resources and conducting detailed analysis and review of revenue submissions by forest professionals.

Qualifications for this role include:
Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Registered Forest Technologist with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC). Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to immediately transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to FPBC within six (6) months of employment. Applicants who are currently in-training may be considered for this position if their RFT can be obtained within two (2) years of their start
date, but at a lower classification. Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be confirmed.
Diploma in natural resource management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Related experience working in natural resource management.
Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management.
