At BC Timber Sales Cariboo-Chilcotin, our Timber Development and Silviculture Teams play a critical role in sustainable forest management, from the development and sale of Timber Sale Licences to harvest conformance and reforestation. Collaboration is key, as you’ll also work alongside teams in Indigenous Relations, Planning and Forest Road Engineering. In this role, you'll directly contribute to sustainable forest management, reconciliation with Indigenous peoples and forest sector safety while helping to ensure the economic health of British Columbia. Your work will provide key data for the Market Pricing System, supporting timber auctions and driving improvements in forest practices. Qualifications for this role include:

  • A Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or be eligible for registration as an RPF with Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC) and two (2) years of experience in operational field forestry activities.
  • Operational field forestry activities include the following:
    • Timber harvesting monitoring/conformance
    • Cut-block development
    • Forest road engineering
    • Silviculture
    • Timber tenure development and administration
    • Planning integrated resource management

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience in more than one (1) operational field forestry activities
  • Experience working with Indigenous Peoples
  • Experience in contract management
