$77,718.46 - $99,452.15 annually

Since 2003, we've been committed to inclusive and adaptive forest management practices, working closely with Indigenous Relations staff and engaging meaningfully with First Nations and the public to balance social, economic and cultural benefits while supporting over 8,000 jobs across British Columbia.
As a Planning Officer, you'll play a crucial role in leadership, strategic and integrated planning processes, developing Forest Stewardship Plans and ensuring that all planning initiatives are effective and in compliance with legislative requirements. Your work will support BC Timber Sales’ commitment to sound forest management and sustainable environmental stewardship, positively impacting B.C.'s economy and communities.

Qualifications for this role include:
• A Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or be eligible for registration as an RPF with the Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC) and three (3) years of experience in operational forestry such as forest tenures, cut-block and road development, engineering, silviculture, harvest operations or compliance and enforcement.
Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
• A Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or be eligible for registration as an RPF with the Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC) and four (4) years of experience in operational field forestry such as forest tenures, cut-block and road development, engineering, silviculture, harvest operations or compliance and enforcement.
• Forestry experience includes timber sales planning, forestry planning or integrated resource management.
• Experience in program administration including allocating resources, managing/supervising staff and administering budgets.
