The successful applicant will be working with advanced planning tools and technology along with an experienced team of GIS and inventory specialists. Silvatech is accepting resumes for the position of Sr. Planning / Development Forester. This is a full-time position based out of Salmon Arm, B.C. with opportunities for senior corporate advancement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science in Forestry
• Registered Professional Forester in BC
• 5 + yrs. experience in forest planning & timber development
• Demonstrated forest development experience (harvest unit planning, road and block layout, site plans, cruising, CP submission prep.) in interior BC
• Strong timber development experience with cable, tethered and conventional systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with ESRI GIS software
• Keen ability to learn technical planning skills using Lidar, photogrammetry, engineering, GIS software.

• Development supervision (access, harvesting systems, prescriptions)
• All aspects of Cutting Permit preparation
• Project development, management, reporting
• Client liaison, referrals, stakeholder meetings facilitation
