Overview:
Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. is looking for several FORESTRY SUMMER STUDENTS to join our team for the 2025 summer field season. These positions are available in our Squamish, Sechelt, North Vancouver or Chilliwack office locations. Applicants should expect a heavy field component in their duties and must be willing to travel within the province for up to 10 days at a time. Successful candidates will get hands-on experience in both Coastal and Interior Forest operations and would be under the supervision of one of our 29 FPBC or EGBC accredited members. Work terms of 4 or 8 months are available.

Job Description:
- Field engineering/ layout of cut blocks and roads
- Preparation of project deliverable documents for cutting and road permit applications
- Assisting with road inspection and deactivation prescriptions
- Powerline and Independent Power Producer (IPP) project assistance
- Silviculture assessments
Qualifications:
- Being enrolled in or having graduated from a forestry-related post-secondary program is preferred; however, we will also consider anyone with an interest in pursuing a career in the forest industry.
- Preference will be given to those with field experience.
- Ability to identify tree species and vegetation.
- Basic orienteering skills.
- Strong organizational skills and a working knowledge of applicable computer software (Microsoft Office, RoadEng, iPad, etc.).
- Ability to execute daily physical activities with endurance and strength.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Compensation:
- The hourly range is between $24-$27 and will be commensurate with experience.
