DWB is hiring! We are currently seeking applications for an intermediate Forest Technician or Junior Forester based out of our Prince George office. This position is available for immediate start. The pay range for this position is $24-$29 per hour.

DWB can offer you a solid foundation grow your forestry career. This position is field based, with a minor office component. You will be working long hours in remote locations, in all weather conditions. The work is physically and mentally demanding, but you will learn a lot about yourself and how to work in a team environment. We promise, working in the field will provide you with stories to share around many campfires!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of experience in forestry or a related field is preferred (experience can include layout, timber cruising, riparian, ecology or silviculture)
  • Experience supervising crews and mentoring junior field staff
  • Willing to work primarily in the field, in camp settings
  • Work well on a team
  • Safe working mindset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

YOUR ROLE:

  • Supervising field work completed by 2-4 junior technicians and summer students
  • Ensuring data collection and development is completed to client specific standards and company protocol including:
    • Block boundary and road layout
    • Timber cruising
    • Riparian assessments and ecological data collection
    • Safety
  • Preparation of block reports, and assistance with site plans and appraisal data submissions under the supervision of a senior forester
