This is a temporary opportunity until September 30, 2026. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
Engineering Officer
$76,071.18 - $86,658.48 annually
The Chilliwack Natural Resource District is looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to join our talented, productive, high energy Engineering team. As an Engineering Officer, you'll be key in planning and managing engineering projects both operational and those related to the Atmospheric River/extreme weather event in 2021. You'll oversee and coordinate engineering activities, develop and manage contracts and budgets and interact with the public, First Nation partners and a variety of interested parties. There is ample opportunity in this role to learn and to develop your project management skills.

Qualifications for this role include:
- A diploma in a natural resource field (i.e. forestry, forest engineering, survey geomatics, geoscience) and five (5) years of related experience; OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in a natural resource field (i.e. forestry, forest engineering, survey geomatics, geoscience) or civil engineering and three (3) years of related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Valid class 5 B.C. driver’s licence or equivalent.
- You must be registered (or immediately eligible for registration) as a Forest Technologist (RFT) or as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) with Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC), or as Professional Engineered (P.Eng.) with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
Related experience includes all of the following:
- Experience in contract and/or project supervision.
- Experience supervising staff or overseeing contractors.
- Budget management experience.
