BCTS Business Technology Innovation Manager
$77,718.46 - $99,452.15 annually
Join the forward-thinking Business Technology Innovation (BTI) Unit at BC Timber Sales (BCTS) and lead a team dedicated to driving technological advancements in forestry. As part of BCTS' Business Information Services section, the BTI team is responsible for discovering, acquiring, and implementing innovative technologies that enhance BCTS operations. This established team, consisting of a GIS Remote Sensing Specialist, an administrative team lead, two administrative professionals and a dedicated Intermediate Business Analyst, works closely with government IT services, BCTS' twelve Business Areas and Provincial Operations. As the Business Technology Innovation Manager, you will set the strategic direction for technology initiatives, managing the innovation process from concept to implementation. Your role involves prioritizing projects, overseeing BCTS' technology assets and administering security and administrative rights for hardware and software tools.
Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor of Science in Forestry or related science-based natural resource management degree specializing in forestry, AND
- Five (5) years specialist-level related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Registered or eligible to immediately register with Forest Professionals of British Columbia (FPBC) as a Registered Professional Forester.
Related experience includes one (1) or more of the following:
- Identifying, developing and implementing innovative technology to meet or improve business objectives.
- Leading projects or components and/or contracts of a major technology project, utilizing project teams comprised of professional, technical, information system and business experts.
- Managing relationships with senior level partners and leading consultation sessions.
- Developing and delivering training for implementation of new or existing technology.
- Business development, including two (2) or more of the following: developing cost benefit analyses, feasibility studies, marketing strategies, and new business delivery models.
