The FPBC webinar 2024 Forest Act Amendments: Cutting Permit and Road Permit Discretion covers the amendments that came into effect on April 1. The amendments required the minister to consider the impacts of harvesting, road construction/maintenance, and use on the management and conservation of forest and cultural heritage resources, as well as the health and safety of the public. The new provisions allow the minister to deny cutting or road permits, or issue them with or without conditions.
